Similiar in function as the X-Pulse technology, the ER-X circuitry increases both the heat and the range of the of the ER Laser it is attached to. While the heat increase is large, it finaly allows the Inner Sphere weapons to match the ranges of their Clan counterparts. An exception to this is the ER-X Intermediate Laser, which has no Clan counterpart.
