[edit] Description

Based losely on the Firestarter, Ceres Metals Industries designed the Firestorm to be an in-city fighter. The appearence of the Firestorm was based upon the ancient images of flamethrower troopers during the ancient world wars on Terra. This made the 'Mech more imposing for its size. To cut down on costs and to make room for more equipment, the Firestorm uses standard internal structure. This frees up plenty of room for a respectible array of weapons. A Vox 225 XL engine pushes the 'Mech a top speed of 86 km/h, while five jump jets give it added agility; well suited for its role of urban combat. Nine tons of standard armor give the Firestorm plenty of protection for its class, while twelve double heat sinks keeps the machine cool in most situations.

[edit] Armament

Keeping to the iconic images that the physical design and name, the Firestorm has a Ceres Hellbore Plasma Rifle and two Zippo Flamers as its primary weapons. These weapons serve well not only against enemy 'Mechs and vehicles, but also as a powerful psychological weapon against infantry (further enhanced by the usual jet-black paint job). For close range encounters, the Firestorm is armed with two Diverse Optics Medium Pulse Lasers and Medium Lasers.

[edit] Variants

  • FS-MX - This variant of the Firestorm is still in the testing stages. Designed for enhanced range, the FS-MX replaces its Plasma Rifle, Flamers, and Medium Pulse Lasers with an ER PPC, a single ER Large Laser, and two extra double heat sinks. It's Medium Lasers have been upgraded to the Extended-Range type as well. BV (1.0) = ???, BV (2.0) = ???
