BattleTechWiki Procedure
This procedure page provides a step-by-step description of how to complete a task or a detailed explanation of a method of style employed on BattleTechWiki. Consider discussing potential changes on the talk page first.


To quickly create an article on a short story that matches the format in use with other works published on BattleCorps:

1. Open the new article.

2. Paste the following code into the edit field:

3. Fill in the template fields as follows:

  • Title is the title of the work. If it is the same as the title of the article, leave this field blank.
  • Author is the name of the author(s).
  • Artwork is the name of the artist who produced any included artwork. If there is none, leave this field blank.
  • Released is the date of release. Be as specific as possible.
  • Pages is the number of pages in the entire work.
  • Format should indicate whether the story is a standalone, serial work, or part of a series.
  • Series is the title of the series. If the story is a standalone or serial work, leave this blank.
  • Parts should indicate the number of parts, if published as a serial work. If it is not, then leave this blank.
  • Era is the name of the era. This should be one of the following: Star League, Succession Wars, Clan Invasion, FedCom Civil War, or Jihad.
  • Timeline should indicate the time span the story covers.

4. Fill in "Description" and "Notes," being sure not to give away any spoilers.

5. Replace [Author's Name] with the name of the author.

6. Click on the Show preview button and review your article for mistakes.

7. Write a brief memo in the Summary field.

8. Press the Save page button.

9. Bask in the pride of your article, with our thanks.
