Jonathan Frye was the Officer Commanding Third Battalion with the mercenary Gray Death Legion.

Jonathan Frye was a veteran Mechwarrior of the Gray Death Legion and came to command the Third BattleMech Battalion. Third Battalion First Company was called "Frye's Firestormers".[1] Major Jonathan Frye, was an exceptional commander, experienced, battle-hardened, and loved by his men, but an injury a few years back had left his deaf in one ear and unable to wear a neurohelment.[2] He continued commanding via Dropship Operations or on one of the Legion's scout tanks.

Frye commanded either via Dropship Operations or from his Pegasus Scout Tank.
