Description[edit]
The Technical Readout: 3055 Upgrade (TRO:3055 Upgrade) was released in 2005 and is part of a wider attempt to summarize and consolidate unit designs originating from the earliest TRO-releases. Therefor it contained all new artwork for all units presented, even the already published. It is the third TRO:3055 (after original TRO:3055 (1992) and TRO:3055 Revised (1996)). It was the first book in the Upgrade series (TRO:3058 Upgrade (2006) and TRO:3050 Upgrade (2007) followed). At the same time it was the first TRO containing units built with Rules Level 3 equipment.
TRO:3055 Upgrade purports to be 3067 review from Wolfnet on the original TRO:3055. It presents a mix of previously published designs (mostly 'Mechs and OmniFighters from TRO:3055) with new and republished Solaris VII designs. Upgraded in appearance and technology, the latter designs were first presented in the Solaris VII: The Game World box set and Solaris: The Reaches.

Remarks on content[edit]
- The title comprises descriptions of 92 units in total, all from Clan Invasion most had been previously published, with some of the Solaris VII designs being publicised for the first time. It contains:
- 38 regular Inner Sphere BattleMech designs,
- 3 Inner Sphere "Phoenix" BattleMechs (designs, which appearance had been updated)[1]
- 25 BattleMech designs for Solaris VII arena fighting,
- 4 Clan OmniMech designs,
- 10 Clan "Phoenix" BattleMechs (this sections is essentially meant as an addendum to the Clan BattleMech section of TRO:Phoenix) and
- 12 Clan OmniFighter designs.
- The artwork for all designs presented in TRO:3055 Upgrade was newly made, even for the republished designs.
- The title comes with various in-character introductions, these are
- Adept XXI-sigma Merle Jimmus, ComStar (15 July, 3055), the original overall introduction from TRO:3055,
- Major-General Margaret Tulliver, Deputy Director, Wolfnet (20 October, 3067), the additional overall introduction for TRO:3055 Upgrade,

- Adept XV-Delta William Connelly, ComStar (02 October 3067) on Clan OmniMech section,
