Gray Death Legion

The Gray Death Legion is a mercenary company formed by Grayson Death Carlyle. It began as an offshoot of "Carlyle's Commandos," a mercenary unit formed by Grayson Death Carlyle's father. During fighting on Trell I, the unit suffered heavy losses and was reformed under Grayson Death Carlyle. Through subsequent actions it reached regimental strength and went on to face the clans and feature prominently in the Lyran Alliance civil war. The Gray Death Legion has also taken credit for the Gray Death Battle Armor.

While stationed on the planet Helm in the Free Worlds League the unit was caught up in the Byzantine politics of the Successor State. When the unit was declared in default of it's contract local units attempted to surround and destroy the Gray Death Legion. It was during these skirmishes that the Gray Death Legion stumbled on a Star League Defense Force stockpile. Along with Battlemechs and weapons was an intact Star League Library Core.
