Description
The newest of the Word of Blake's Demon series of battle armor is the Nephilim. Named for a class of half-angels who dwelt with mortals from Christianity, the name may hint at an intended close relationship with the Celestial series.[2]
The Nephilim is protected by enough Mimetic Armor to stop two direct hits from a Large Laser. Since it can only manage 21 km/h overland, the special qualities of the armor are usually put to good use.[1]
Armament
The standard version of the Nephilim has a Modular Weapon Mount. That mount is usually occupied by a Man-Portable Plasma Rifle, though it can vary based on trooper preference. A pair of One-Shot SRM-2s supplement this arsenal.[1]
Variants
- Gauss – This variant eschews the aforementioned weapons in favor of a David Light Gauss Rifle and two Magshot Gauss Rifles. BV (2.0) = 81[1]
- Seeker – The second variant has a smaller weapon mount that usually carries a Machine Gun. For anti-vehicle purposes it mounts an SRM-3 with two reloads. It also utilizes a Searchlight and Improved Sensors. BV (2.0) = 82[1]
- Support – This version also forgoes modular mounts, instead mounting a Small Laser and two detachable Rocket Launcher 4s. BV (2.0) = 70[1]
- Capture Team – The first variant to make use of the Detachable Weapon Mount that restricts mobility, the “Capture Team” carries a 'Mech Taser in it. For more reliable fire it has a Modular Weapon Mount that usually has a Heavy Machine Gun. A One-Shot LRM-2 provides limited long-range support. BV (2.0) = 74[1]
- Narc – The “Narc” variant carries a Compact Narc with one reload. A Detachable Weapon Mount allows it to also utilize a Support PPC, while a Rocket Launcher 2 gives it some extra firepower. BV (2.0) = 79[1]
