Description[edit]
Limited information is available for the Hector. Known to be 1,800 tons, it was used as a testbed for SDS drone conversion. The M-2 Drone program was quickly scrapped in 2694 after a squadron of the M-2s stopped responding to the wider network and destroyed three civilian JumpShips whose IFF transponders were incorrectly synced.[1][2]
The SDS Self-Destruct System was introduced a year later to prevent another such occurrence. ComStar Archives indicate that the SDS S-DS was implemented by First Lord Jonathan Cameron to prevent the Terran Hegemony technology from falling into Member State hands, though both may be true.[2]
Variants[edit]
- M-2 - Drone version of the Hector.
