Plot summary[edit]
The Lyran General Thomas Hogarth was responding to a investigation refering to his leading paper in a Heavy Gauss Rifle catastrophic project. In his first test, he managed to destroy a Kell Hounds BattleMech with a mass driver made of parts. In a party, when Adam Steiner questioned the viability of the project, the General simply ignored him. In a second test, a Victor which was testing the Heavy Gauss Rifle was crippled, and the pilot, which was hospitalized, was court-maltialed by Hogarth, forcing his superiors to give the pilot compensations. Finally, the General was forced to test the Heavy Gauss by himself, in his Mech, and when the lead tech doubted he will survive to the test, he fired him. Eventually, Hogarth survived the test, hiring again the lead tech, decided to point the investigative committe how he was right.
