Possibile Copyright Issue?[edit]
I have no idea if this is the case or not, but a huge section of this article seems to be written from the an in-universe source, making me think it came directly from an actual product, leading to a BattleTechWiki:Copyrights. Can someone explain this to me? ClanWolverine101 20:53, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- The original essay was attributed as "Author: BattleTech 3056 MUSE", and may have been taken off some one's fansite. As the article has been edited and updated numerous times since its first re-posting here, it is no longer considered an essay by that first 'unknown' author alone. As for it being from an official source verbatim, I doubt it and believe it is copyright-free until demonstrated otherwise. (However, it certainly needs citations.)--Revanche (talk|contribs) 21:35, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- Again, save for a few additions such as MechCommander bit, everything from 3050 Update down is copied from 20-Year Update, pages 12 to 18. Subsection headings are identical. Cyc 21:40, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- I checked in my copy of 20-Year Update and you are right, it is word for word the same down to the headers.Deeppockets 15:49, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
